Verso Libero (2018) is a project on the de-contextualisation of texts and verbal stimuli.
Commonplaces, sayings and sentences belonging to popular culture, with a strong interpretative ambiguity, are exhibited in art spaces and museums; on the contrary, sentences and sayings belonging to the art world - often difficult to understand even for the insiders - are presented through popular means, such as banners, scarves, flags, murals, etc..
The project aims at creating an interpretative clash in the viewer due to the ambiguity of the texts and the medium with which they are presented, placed outside of their natural context.
In the occasion of the group exhibition Next Stop curated by Barbara Martuscello within the spaces of Videocittà, in the Caserma Guido Reni (Rome), we presented È per te il nostro boato: a 60-metre-long banner depicting an expression taken from
the football world.
